Join us on October 16th at 6:30 pm for a program featuring Al Golub, a distinguished professional sports photographer.

Golub, who for a long time was the photography editor at the Modesto Bee, has covered hundreds of professional football games, including some Super Bowls. Now in semi-retirement, he still photographs home games for the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders and the Stockton Record newspaper publishes his photos.

CAL FIRE followers also know his work as he is often on the front lines with the firefighters during local fires.

His unique style of shooting sports has garnered Golub a reputation for being an “inside man” in the sports photography world and he will be sharing some of his techniques and secrets, as well as observations, with local photographers.

Al is based near Yosemite National Park and has been a working photographer for over 50 years.  Al is a dedicated photojournalist and spent most of his career in newspapers.  Al also consulted for Eastman Kodak for 10 years and did commercial photography as well.  Al now teaches photojournalism at a local college, and assists, and mentors up-and-coming photographers.

You can see more of Al’s photography here.

PLEASE NOTE: DATE OF MEETING IS CHANGED FROM 2ND WEDNESDAY TO 3RD WEDNESDAY!
